  • Stuart was so knowledgeable & was worth the day with him. I had been to LA multiple times before but this is the first time I had taken a tour - so thrilled to have this experience with my mom & sister. I would recommend this tour again & again.

  • Did a walking tour of LA (LA in a Day). Vicky started us off with the Hollywood tour & Damien (who is also the owner) was our guide for the rest of the day. The entire day was awesome, I suggest this tour. There isn't that much walking, to be honest. It's very fun!

  • My boyfriend & I took the DTLA Murder Mystery Ghost tour with Stuart as our guide & had the most amazing time! We had experiences we will never forget! We were able to see parts & people of Los Angeles that we never would have without Stuart. I give this 10/10. If we visit again, this will be at the top of our to do list!

  • Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend taking both The Real Hollywood Tour & the Central Downtown LA tour! Our time in LA wouldn't have been the same. Great way to learn about the city, see it from a different angle, explore the local life & learn about its history & filming industry. Damien our guide was fantastic!

  • Sylvie was our host & was fantastic. She had a lot of local knowledge & gave her unique perspective as someone who had moved to the area many years ago, so she had an outsider's as well as an insider's perspective. The tour gave us a great overview of Santa Monica & Venice & set us up for a great rest of the day.

  • We took 2 tours, the Santa Monica & Venice Bike tour (with Sylvie) & the Real Hollywood tour (with Damien). Both were great & highly recommended. Sylvie & Damien were informative, knowledgeable & easy to talk to. They were like you were with friends. We were traveling as a family of 4 with 2 boys (15 & 12). We all enjoyed the tours.

An easy walking distance

2 & 3 hour tours available
Best tour to learn the history of L.A.

Los Angeles has a fascinating history and one of the best things about it is you can still see much of it – if you know where to look. Many of Los Angeles’ oldest buildings, from when it was infamous for being the most lawless and god-forsaken town in the Wild West, are still standing and you’ll even go inside them on our LA: Wild West to Now tour. First we’ll show how and why the tiny community appeared on the far reaches of the Spanish Empire in 1781. Then you’ll learn about the transition of the tiny pueblo, from being a Spanish colonial town with a population of just forty-four people, to being a thriving farming community (and home of Zorro) during the Mexican years, before being captured by the Americans during the Mexican-American war of 1846-48. Finally you’ll see how it took off in the 1870’s, before your LA: Wild West to Now tour finishes with modern Los Angeles masterpieces like the Broad Museum and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. You can also try some great, local, southern Californian food on this tour if you book the three hour version of it.

*Cost: from $180 per group for the 2 hour tour or $240 per group for the 3 hour tour (5% of what you pay goes to Climate Cents, a local climate change organization).

*Walking Distance: 2 miles.

*Tour starts at side entrance to Union Station on Alameda Street (photo of meeting point).

*Tour finishes in Pershing Square.

*Children under 12 y.o. do not have to buy a ticket.

*If you book the 3 hour tour there are 3 stops to buy food on this tour, each for about 15 minutes. There’s a big range of food options and all types of diet can be accommodated (Vegetarian, Vegan etc).

Or you can book this as a 2 hour private tour starting at just $180 for a group of up to 10 guests
