During that period it was at the epicenter of Hollywood\, celebrity gossip\, the West Coast mob and Los Aneles debauchery.\n\nAs th e 1960’s dawned it reinvented itself as a rock club scene and epicenter of the new anti-Vietnam war\, hippie\, counter-culture\, with riots and de monstrations regularly held there. Then\, in the 1970’s\, it gained new prominence for its stand-up comedy-clubs that launched the careers of a hu ge number of famous comedians.\n\nThroughout those eras the Sunset Strip a lso saw more than its fair share of murders (often brutal)\, death and cri me.
