  buses with a pre-recorded audio commentary playing (which is always out o
 f sync) – we’ll show you the hidden nooks and crannies of the city tha
 t other tour companies don’t (because it doesn’t fit their itinerary) 
 and give you a feel for the real Los Angeles. Uniquely the LA in a Day tou
 r is the only tour in Los Angeles – and certainly the only metro and wal
 king tour – on which you can see seven different venues which have held
  the Academy Awards Ceremony.\n\nWe'll start your LA in a Day tour in Hol
 lywood (where else) and show you how and why L.A. became the center of the
  American entertainment industry. There’s a huge amount of fascinating m
 ovie history surrounding the famous Walk of Fame\, including the oldest ho
 use in Hollywood (where Charlie Chaplin’s kids went to school)\, the Cap
 itol Records Building\, the Egyptian Theater\, the Dolby Theater (home of 
 the Oscars) and the TCL Chinese Theater\, and you’ll learn about it all.
 \n\nNext we take the subway to downtown – it’s actually the fastest wa
 y to get there. DTLA is the most dynamic part of the city right now and it
 ’s also the biggest historic downtown of any major city in the U.S. The 
 city was founded here in 1781 and it has a huge number of iconic buildings
 \, such as City Hall and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. By this time you’
 ll be hungry\, so we pause your LA in a Day tour for lunch at one of the t
 op food destinations in America\, Grand Central Market.\n\nAfter lunch th
 e tour continues in DTLA\, then we head to Santa Monica on the Expo Line. 
 It’s a lovely way to travel through the West Side. Once in SaMo we’ll 
 give you a tour of the area (including the famous Santa Monica Pier)\, bef
 ore finishing your LA in a Day tour at 3rd Street Promenade\, a perfect pl
