Inside LA - The Los Angeles Lowdown
Dia de los Muertos Special Family Tour
Join our Dia de los Muertos Special Family tour and celebrate this important anniversary with The Real Los Angeles Tours.
The tour starts in Pershing Square as we tell you about the ancient Lizard People that lived beneath the streets of LA (incredibly, it’s a true story). Then you’ll see where mythical beasts would burrow through tunnels into downtown – the fabled red cars of the Pacific Electric Company. After that we’ll ascend Angels Flight and pass though the nine levels of Chicunamictlán (otherwise known as Bunker Hill). As the tour makes its way to Grand Park we’ll weave together ghost stories, Los Angeles history, Nahua and Tongva religious practices, as well as adding some good-old fashioned Halloween elements (like lots of cookies), before reaching Mictlán, Land of the Dead. Your Dia de los Muertos Special Family tour ends as we leave an offering for the victims of one of LA’s blackest crimes at our own ofrenda in Grand Park. We also encourage guests to leave an item of their own, for a special person that they particularly want to remember at this time.
- This is a family event, designed to entertain everyone: parents, children and teenagers.
- Plenty of special Halloween cookies will be available.
- Learn about some little-known, but fascinating, LA history.
- Learn about Dia de Los Muertos and the Nahua and Tongva religions.
- Bring an item to leave at our ofrenda in Grand Park, to remember someone special.
